A Newborn Lifestyle Session is a type of photography session that focuses on capturing natural, candid moments between newborns and their families in the comfort of their own home. Unlike traditional newborn portrait sessions, which often involve posed shots in a studio setting, lifestyle sessions aim to document the everyday moments and interactions that occur in the home environment. One of the primary goals of a newborn lifestyle session is to capture the deep emotional bond between the baby and their family members. I focus on capturing genuine expressions of love, joy, tenderness, and connection, resulting in timeless and heartfelt images that the family will cherish for years to come. It can be a Newborn Lifestyle Session or even with bigger children.
Natural and Candid: The primary focus of a newborn lifestyle session is on capturing natural, unposed moments between the baby, parents, and any siblings or family members. My goal is to document the genuine emotions, connections, and interactions that occur spontaneously during the session.
Home Environment: Newborn lifestyle sessions take place in the family's home, where everyone feels comfortable and relaxed. This allows for a more intimate and personal atmosphere, as well as the inclusion of meaningful elements from the family's surroundings, such as nursery decor, family pets, or sentimental items.
Minimal Props and Posing: Unlike studio newborn sessions, which often involve elaborate props, backdrops, and posing techniques, lifestyle sessions typically use minimal props and focus on capturing the baby in a natural, unposed manner. The emphasis is on the baby's natural beauty and the loving interactions with family members.
Documenting Everyday Life: In addition to capturing portraits of the newborn, lifestyle sessions may also involve documenting everyday moments and routines, such as feeding, cuddling, diaper changes, and sibling interactions. These candid shots help to tell the story of the family's life during the newborn stage and create a meaningful narrative for the photos.
I offer two types of Newborn Sessions. You can choose between a Lifestyle Session and a Combo Session. I no longer offer full posed Newborn Sessions.
> My combo session is primarily an in-home lifestyle session with 2 basic poses with props at the end - it can be done at home (I will bring the props) or at my studio in Downtown San Diego.
> My lifestyle sessions usually last 1 hour and the Combo between 1.5 and 2 hours and is done at home.
I offer discounted packages when a Newborn Photo Shoot is booked with a Maternity or other milestones sessions, such as 6 months, Cake Smash or 12 months sessions.

Booking a cake smash session for your baby can be a fun and memorable way to celebrate their first birthday or other significant milestone. Milestones are special moments in a child’s life that must be celebrated and documented. A photoshoot with All Colors Photography will effortlessly capture who they are at this time in their lives.
The most popular milestone portrait session I offer is a Cake Smash Session. Most clients prefer a session at the studio with all the props, while others choose a regular photo shoot on location so they can combine a family session with cake smash session.
My studio is located in Downtown San Diego.
The Session done at the Studio is for the baby only. The cake and the set up is included. I also have many outfits and headbands the family can borrow for the photos. When the family wants photos with the baby they have two options: book the studio cake smash and then a separate session on location for the family OR book a regular session on location (1st half family photos and 2nd half cake). There’s no backdrops on that, but I can bring a wooden high chair or vintage quilt and the cake.
Most Cake Smash Sessions are done when baby is 11 months old so the family has the chance to receive the photos back and use them to decorate the party or share it on social media in time for the actual birthday.
All this information also applies to other Milestones Session, being the most popular Sweet Birthday (3+ older kids birthday celebrations), 6 months and 12 months old.
